Our City Day Tours Offer Amazing Animal Encounters

Giraffe sat down in grassland, at Crescent Island Naivasha Kenya, Africa Kenya Safaris

Not all of Kenya’s wildlife is found in the great legendary parks – there’s plenty to see in town or just minutes away.

Nairobi National Park is a truly wild animal reserve just a hop from your hotel, where you can discover roaming lion, buffalo, cheetah, and more… all in sight of the city’s downtown skyscrapers.

Africa Kenya Safaris offers daily full and half-day excursions to the city’s magical animal enclaves – places that exist nowhere else. They’re all easy and so much fun

Baby Elephants By the Dozens

We’ll take you to see a delightful nursery of baby elephants feeding, playing, and just being adorable at the David Sheldrick Trust Elephant Orphanage.

Picture the hungry babies running up to their handlers for their morning meal, drinking from giant baby bottles!

They lap up their breakfast and run off to play, like any toddler. You can even “adopt” a baby during your visit.

Ever Fed a Giraffe?

You can at The Giraffe Centre. Climb up the observation platform where you’ll be eye-to-eye with a curious and colorful Rothschild’s giraffe.

Reach out with some food pellets and a long, green tongue quickly laps up the goodies.

You may even get a giraffe kiss as thanks.

Into Africa – The World of Karen Blixen

You may know her as Isak Dinesen, the author of the world-famous memoir, “Out of Africa”.

Her real name was Karen Blixen and she had a farm in Africa – a coffee plantation and manor house.

We’ll take you there to see the colorful mementos of her amazing life.

Kazuri Beads

Step into this busy workplace to be immersed in a world of dazzling beads and pottery.

This artisan refuge and gift shop was born in the local community by women seeking self-empowerment through their imaginations and a desire to improve their and their children’s lives.

DAY TRIPPING! 1-DAY ADVENTURES FROM NAIROBI

National Parks, Rift Valley Lakes, & the Majesty of Mt. Kilimanjaro Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino & More

Africa Kenya Safaris has designed each of these 1-day out-of-Nairobi adventures to be a complete safari package. None are more than 240 km (150 mi) away.

We’ll hit the road early, journeying to the parks of your choice.

It will be a day of total engagement with the land, the culture, and of course, the amazing wildlife.

Take a look at these four awesome one-day safaris:

Amboseli National Park

If elephants are your thing, you have to experience Amboseli Park – the best spot in Africa to see great herds of big-tusked elephants.

We’ll also be looking for lion, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, and more. Breakfast, lunch, and lots of game drives are included in this total discovery adventure.

Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island & Hell’s Gate Park

Who wouldn’t want to visit a place called Hell’s Gate? Named for its intense geothermal activity of geysers and hot springs, plus you can bicycle past grazing gazelle, giraffe, and more.

Lake Naivasha is a stunning high-elevation lake filled with hippos and exotic birds that we’ll sail by on a boating safari. And, pretty, little Crescent Island is filled with wildebeest, waterbuck, hippo, and birds like cormorants and pelicans. A buffet lunch is included.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Chimpanzees? Rhinos? Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the only place in Kenya where you can see chimps, protected, and nursed back to good health.

Rhinos too! The Conservancy is the closest spot to Nairobi where you can find all of Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant.

Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, & Crescent Island

One of the prettiest reserves anywhere, Lake Nakuru National Park is a picturesque blend of acacia forest, waterfalls, and the blue alkaline waters of the lake. You can’t miss the pelicans, kingfishers, ostriches, and sometimes dazzling pink flamingoes on the shore. Plus, a rhino sanctuary!

Then, we’ll hop over to nearby Lake Naivasha and Crescent Island, for sailing and walking safaris.
