THREE-DAY AMBOSELI PARK
Free-Ranging Elephants & Mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro
Starting from Nairobi area hotels, airport, or location of your choice.
Finishing up by luxury train to Diani Beach on the Kenya Coast.
You can also request drop-off at Mombasa, Kilifi, Malindi & Watamu.
We’ll pick you up in style – your own private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
You’ll want to spend some serious adventure time at this very popular park – our three-day discovery tour checks all the boxes. Beautiful postcard vistas, vast herds of elephants, and a density of wildlife easily accessed in this compact but active reserve.
Amboseli National Park is simply one of the best spots in the world to see multitudes of elephants, sometimes proudly parading before the splendid backdrop of world-famous Mt. Kilimanjaro. You’ll be snapping photos everywhere you look throughout this picturesque park.
Then, after three days of active game adventuring, you’ll get to hop aboard the Madaraka Express for a comfy ride to Diani Beach. You can also choose to continue by Jeep or even fly to the coast.
What’s Cool about Amboseli?
The bush and flora are more sparse at Amboseli and that just makes the game viewing better – the lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, zebra, and gazelle are easier to spot. The park is not too big so you’ll be able to hop to favorite viewing points more quickly.
If you want, we offer an optional visit to a nearby Maasai village. It’s a great opportunity for a cultural encounter with the Maasai people and you’ll get to learn about their herding lifestyle.
Fast & Flexible
At AKS you write the rules. Travel and explore at your own pace in you own way. We’re fast, flexible, and always ready to respond to your requests. Book in advance or even the day before. We’ll get you out on safari – pronto!
The trip to the park is an easy 4-hour drive from Nairobi in one of our custom 4 x 4 Safari Jeeps. Depending on your choice of accommodation you can enjoy extra activities like guided walks, bush dinners, evening bonfires, babysitting, children’s pool, night game drives, and evening sundowners all in sight of towering Kilimanjaro.
Stay Connected or Not. Your Choice.
We realize you’re on safari to get away from the usual. Still, there are times you may want to go online… perhaps to share your photos and adventures with friends. Our safari vehicles connect with Wi-Fi, about 75% of the time so you can usually connect when you want.
No one is more important to the success of your safari than your guide. At Africa Kenya Safaris, we have the friendliest, most experienced driver/guides. They will guide, host, inform, and look after you like the special guest you are. That’s our guarantee.
You’ll safari in style out to the parks in your own private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – the best way to experience Africa with its higher seating for better views and its rugged all-wheel drive.
We give you more at AKS – customization, flexibility, and lots of choices. Your safari includes park entrance fees, game drives, accommodations, and meals. Plus, we always offer economy, comfort, or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.
Please give us a shout at Africa Kenya Safaris to set up your personalized safari adventure for yourself, your family, and your friends.

Nairobi - Amboseli National Park
Meals: Lunch & Lunch
7:30 am. Your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will pick you up for the easy drive to the park. We’ll take the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, and you just might spot some Maasai herders with their flocks in the nearby fields.
As we approach the park, you’ll see the rising spire of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance, guiding our way to Amboseli. We should arrive late morning and you’ll settle in for lunch at your safari lodge or tented camp.
Then it’s safari time! We’ll jump into our 4 x 4 Jeep for the first of our game drives, exploring for lion, leopard, cheetah, and a host of other wildlife.
You won’t have to look far to spot the park’s many herds of strolling elephants. And throughout your safari, you’ll see the imposing form of Kilimanjaro almost standing guard over the park.
As we get toward evening, the cloud cover near the mountain’s snow-covered peak may part, revealing one of Africa’s greatest treasures.
We’ll head back to our accommodation for a relaxing dinner and share stories of our first safari day.
Full Day at Amboseli
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Here’s the thing about safaris – we don’t sleep in. We’re up with the sun and the wildlife to appreciate the new day. Our first game drive may even reward us with views of Kilimanjaro’s summit.
We’ll head back to our lodge or tented camp for breakfast to fuel us for the next game drive. Besides the larger wildlife, Amboseli will treat us to sightings of many smaller species like hyena, fox, jackal, monkey, and baboon.
As we rumble through the park, you’ll see a pyramid-shaped form rising from the plains. This is Observation Hill, an excellent spot to take a break and appreciate views all around the park, its plains, marshes, lakes, and of course, Kilimanjaro.
Besides the four-legged wildlife, Amboseli also sports plenty of colorful winged creatures like pelican, kingfisher, egret, and Egyptian goose – additional eager subjects for your camera.
If you choose to, we can take an optional visit to the nearby Maasai village for an interaction with these indigenous people of the land. Get to meet the families and learn about their lifestyle and customs.

But not to worry, your train trip will take you through the great plains of Tsavo West and Tsavo East Parks with the possibility of viewing more wildlife.
At the train station, your guide will assist with your ticketing, ensuring you’re comfortably aboard. Settle into your air-conditioned first-class seat as you watch the parks fly by. In just a few hours you’ll arrive in Mombasa. This high-speed train is built for air-conditioned comfort with soft reclining seats. Your large picture windows will provide colorful vistas of the parks and their wildlife.
Should you be hungry or want to stretch your legs, visit the buffet car for drinks and snacks. You’ll soon arrive at the modern train station in Mombasa.
