5-DAYS, 4 NATIONAL PARKS - NAIROBI TO THE BEACH SAFARI
Including Masai Mara & Amboseli
Starting from Nairobi area hotels, the airport, or location of your choice.
Finishing up by luxury train to Mombasa on the Kenya Coast. You can also request drop-off at Diani Beach, Malindi, or Watamu.
We’ll pick you up in style – your own private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
What an amazing way to get to the beach – by way of Kenya’s greatest wildlife parks and reserves. You’ll love these safari stops with their feast of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and grazers like gazelle and impala.
Be ready to safari big time as our first stop is Kenya’s most popular park, the world-famous Masai Mara, home to the big cats and the Great Migration. Acre for acre there is more active wildlife here than most parks in the region.
We’ll kick back a little at Lake Naivasha, a lovely fresh-water retreat where we’ll enjoy a sailing safari, getting close-up views of the resident hippos. From there, we’ll hop over to neighboring Crescent Island Game Sanctuary to discover the pelicans and cormorants lining the shore and stroll by giraffe and zebra.
You’ve seen the wildlife by foot, 4 x 4 Jeep, and boat… how about pedaling by the animals as they graze? If you wish, at our next stop, Hell’s Gate National Park, you can hop aboard a bicycle for a self-propelled safari past grazing buffalo, impala, giraffe, and baboon.
Rounding out this Nairobi-to-Beach safari, we’ll make an important stop at Amboseli National Park to visit an enchanting world of big-tusker elephants. These massive and regal creatures dominate the park with their free-ranging comings and goings. And you are guaranteed to spot them as they march before the snow-capped majesty of Mt Kilimanjaro – what a thrilling way to cap our safari.
From there it’s a scenic train ride to the Kenya Coast, or if you prefer, continue on with your driver/guide in your 4 x 4 Jeep to the beach town of your choice.

What’s Cool about These Parks?
The Masai Mara is dense with wildlife and if you’re here during the Great Migration from July through October, expect to be overwhelmed by the hordes of uncountable wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles storming into the park. No one who witnesses this spectacle ever forgets it.
Ever seen photographs of great elephants standing before a towering snow-capped mountain? It’s one of Africa’s most iconic scenes – great Mt. Kilimanjaro standing watch over the herds of free-ranging elephants at Amboseli Park. You’ll reach for your camera too at the sight of these magnificent “giants”. This popular reserve is a visual feast.

Day 1
Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve
5-6 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
5:00 am – This is the safari hour – up early to make the most of the day. Your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will come to your hotel, residence, airport, or the place of your choice to begin your road trip. Step into your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep and we’ll head down the highway, stopping in the charming town of Narok to breakfast and take in the dawn.
Traveling on to the great Masai Mara Reserve, we will enter Maasai country so keep an eye out for the herders tending to their flocks as you enjoy the sights of the Great Rift Valley.
Late morning will find us arriving at the rolling hills and deep savannahs of the world-famous park. We’ll settle into our accommodation or perhaps just take off on the first of many game drives over our three-day span in the park.
The Mara is well-known for a reason: it is one of the densest ecosystems in the region, alive with big cats, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and dozens of other hunter and grazer species filling its fields and forests.
Toward evening you may get to view one of the park’s spectacular sunsets as you head back to your safari lodge or tented camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2
Full-Day at the Masai Mara
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
We have a full day of game drives before us. Talk with your guide about what wildlife you’d like to see and which areas of the park will make that happen. But no matter where your game drives take you, you won’t go long without making some exciting animal sightings.
The Mara River can be an especially exciting spot to visit. This is where the wildebeests and zebras cross over from the Serengeti, and from July through October, their numbers swell during the Great Migration. Expect to see thousands of frenzied animals make the crossing, trying to escape the clutches of the crocodiles waiting for them.
We offer several optional activities to enhance your time in the park. For a fascinating cultural moment, visit a nearby Maasai village. There, you’ll get to meet the local people, view their homes, and learn about their ancient lifestyle, raising their goats and cattle.
If you’d like to see the park from above with its great trains of wildlife, we suggest an optional early morning balloon safari. You’ll rise into the new day, sailing with the wind as the sun lights up the park and its inhabitants. A beautiful moment in time, never to be forgotten.

Day 3
Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha Area
Approx. 4 ½ Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Good morning to our third day in the park. We’ll take another game drive, perhaps going to a favorite spot, before heading out for the Great Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha.
This unusual freshwater lake will see us on a sailing safari, smiling at the nearby hippos and waving to the wildlife on the shore.
Next, we’ll take a guided walking safari at neighboring Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, taking in the shore birds and getting close to the preserve’s buffalo, antelope, and zebra.
Rounding out this day of unusual safaris, a trip to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park will land us on bicycles if we wish, pedaling past the park’s impala, gazelle, and giraffe. What a varied and different type of safari day!
We will spend the evening at our Lake Naivasha accommodation.

Day 4
Lake Naivasha – Amboseli Park
5 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
We’ll bid goodbye to the Naivasha area as we move on to Amboseli Park. You’ll know you’re getting close to the reserve when you see the iconic snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Arriving at the park, you can’t miss spotting the many herds of free-ranging elephants that are a signature of this popular reserve. Get ready for lots of picture taking – between the elephants, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the park’s bountiful wildlife and birdlife, you’ll have no shortage of subjects.
As evening approaches, the mists hovering around Kilimanjaro’s peak may disperse, providing us with a stunning view of Africa’s tallest summit.
Dinner and rest tonight will be at our Amboseli accommodation.

Day 5
Amboseli – Mombasa and the Coast
Approx. 4 ½ Hours by train
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,
Our final day on safari and we’ll take just one more drive around the park for any last-minute sightings.
Then, it’s on to the Emali train station for a smooth, air-conditioned ride to the coast. And here’s another bonus: your train will be traveling through two more legendary parks Tsavo West and Tsavo East.
At the Emali train station, your guide will make sure you are ticketed and comfortably seated on the state-of-the-art Madaraka Express, the high-speed train to the coast. Of course, your first-class seat is included with your tour.
The train’s right-of-way is elevated, so you’ll have big picture-window views of the parks as you take in their vast landscapes.
The train also offers a buffet car for drinks and snacks. In just 4 ½ hours you’ll arrive at the modern train station in Mombasa.
Going on to Diani, Watamu, or Malindi? No problem. Meeting you at the station, an Africa Kenya Safaris driver will bring you to the hotel or resort of your choice.
Note: You can also choose to continue your journey from Amboseli to the coast with your driver/guide in your 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. You’ll arrive at the coast at approximately 17:00 hrs. (5:00 pm).
From the Masai Mara to the coast, it’s been five days of sights, sounds, and wildlife. Is this the best beach trip you’ve ever had? We hope you enjoyed our bountiful natural world. From all of us at Africa Kenya Safaris, thank you for your time and your interest.
