TWO-DAY DIANI BEACH TO TSAVO EAST & WEST –
SUN TO SAVANNAH SAFARI
Discover These Immense Sister Parks
Starting from/returning to your Diani Beach or other coastal resort.
We’ll pick you up in style – your own private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
Take a vacation from your vacation! Just a short drive from your coastal resort you can explore Kenya’s largest parks – alive with elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, and the list continues…
Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks are legendary reserves – home to all the “Big Five” and full of surprises like unexpected oases, volcanic formations, and busy watering holes where the wildlife gather, and where you’ll observe them in great numbers.
So close to your beach resort but a world away in experiences, join us for two days of adventure and a taste of the safari life.
What’s Cool About These Parks?
Mudanda Rock, a geological formation set above a natural dam is a favorite spot for Tsavo East’s wildlife and the safari-goers who love them. You’ll discover lots of elephants here along with buffalo, impala, and plenty of other thirsty game.
Tsavo West is full of unusual moments, like when you suddenly come upon the rich oasis of Mzima Springs. You’ll find exotic fish, birds, hippos, and crocodiles in this palm-shrouded spring-fed paradise.
Rhinos are a special treat and not always easy to find but your chances of spotting these gentle creatures improve at the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, home to over 80 of the endangered animals.

Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park
Approx. 3 Hour Drive
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
7:00 am – Your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will swing by early to get your safari going. You’ll depart in your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Safari Jeep taking the Likoni Ferry to Mombasa and then by highway to Tsavo East.
Along our route, you’ll witness the African sunrise, coloring the passing landscapes and preparing us for the exciting day ahead.
Arriving at Tsavo East National Park, you’ll encounter a vast area of rugged terrain and big sky. We’ll head to the watering holes like Aruba Dam and the Kanderi marshes where large numbers of wildlife gather.
Notice the park’s foundation of red-oxide soil – its populations of elephants like to roll in this rusty earth giving themselves a reddish hue.
Besides elephants, we’ll be tracking for lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope, and the hundreds of bird species sprinkled throughout the park.
Then it’s a short drive to neighboring sister park, Tsavo West, whose green rolling hills contrast with the morning’s desert-like game drives.
This park also features lots of big game sightings but also a unique rhino sanctuary, offering refuge to these endangered creatures. We’ll try our luck exploring for these shy and curious animals.
The sun will start lowering into a beautiful African sunset as we head to our Tsavo West accommodation to relax and enjoy dinner.
Tsavo West – Diani Beach
Approx. 6 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Let’s enjoy another African sunrise as we begin the day with an early game drive. This is a beautiful and peaceful time to view the wildlife as the sunlight breaks upon the fields and hills, the fresh dewy scent of the park all around us.
We’ll return to our accommodation for breakfast, enjoying the sights and sounds of the natural world.
Then we’ll head out to one of the park’s wonders – Mzima Springs. This lush area is fed by millions of gallons of crystalline water. We’ll leave our 4 x 4 to walk along the shaded banks and take in the fish, birds, hippos, and crocodiles at this cool oasis.
Soon it’s time to head back to the coast. Your driver/guide will point us toward the highway and bring you to your resort in the early evening.
Back at your beach resort you’ll reflect on all you’ve seen over the past two days – wildlife and landscapes that have brought new dimensions to your Kenya beach holiday. We hope you had a wonderful time and thank you for your kind patronage. Asante!
