THREE-DAY DIANI BEACH TO AMBOSELI/TSAVO –
YOUR CHOICE SAFARI
Design Your Safari – Tsavo East or Tsavo West
Starting from/returning to your Diani Beach or other coastal resort.
We’ll pick you up in style – your own private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.

- Diani Beach
- Tsavo East
- Tsavo West
- Amboseli
Want a perfect three-day safari from the beach? An African safari you can help design yourself? On this unique adventure, you get to choose which of the two famous Tsavo parks to visit, along with the fun and grandeur of Amboseli National Park, home to great herds of free-ranging elephants.
Choose to visit Tsavo East National Park, known for its unique short-maned lions, leopards, cheetah, and other big game. Or, you can explore sister park, Tsavo West National Park, where you’ll also find rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, and plenty of surprises.
Either way, your Africa safari will then journey on to Amboseli Park, seated near the base of towering and photogenic Mt. Kilimanjaro. It’s in this setting you’ll be treated to families of elephants, meandering to and fro from their favorite watering holes.
So leave the beach behind – for just a few days – and join us from your Diani or other south coast resort for this special safari in Kenya.
What’s Cool About These Parks?
Tsavo East has amazing vantage points to view the animals – they’re called watering holes. Places like the Galana River, Mudanda Rock, and the Aruba Dam are natural attractions for the park’s thirsty population of wildlife. Expect to see elephant, giraffe, zebra, impala, and many others sidling up for a drink.
Want to see rhinos? You’ll up your chances of spotting these shy but fascinating animals at the Ngulia Sanctuary in Tsavo West. The park features another unusual destination – Mzima Springs. Enjoy this lush break from the savannah, where exotic birds, fish, hippos, and crocodiles thrive in the crystalline waters.
Not many parks can make an absolute guarantee, but Amboseli guarantees sightings of its many elephants, parading by in this compact but very busy reserve.

Day 1
Your choice of Tsavo East or Tsavo West Park
Tsavo East
Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park
Approx. 3 Hour Drive
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
7:00 am Let’s be up before the sun to pack in as much safari action as possible. Your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will come by your resort with a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep for your journey.
You’ll head to Mombasa via the Likoni Ferry and then travel on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway as the African sunrise lights up the passing fields and homesteads.
In about three hours we’ll reach the park’s gate, and we can stop for refreshments if you wish.
Now it’s time to start our game drives across the vast, rugged terrain of Tsavo East, Kenya’s largest park. We’ll be tracking for lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and so many others.
We’ll take a lunch break and then head out for more game-driving fun. You set the pace for your safari. Want more relaxation time? Just tell your guide and he’ll be happy to oblige.
Toward the late afternoon as the air begins to cool we may see still more wildlife emerging from the day’s heat. We’ll discover the animals along with the African sunset as we head back to our safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 2
Tsavo East – Amboseli
5 – 6 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
We’ll be up with the sun… if not before. This is a wonderful time to view the dawning light and the park coming alive with wildlife emerging into the new day.
We’ll enjoy an early breakfast before setting off to Amboseli.

Option 2 - Starting your safari at Tsavo West
Day 1
Diani – Tsavo West National Park
4 – 5 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
6:00 Your adventure begins as your African Kenya Safaris driver/guide comes by your resort to pick you up in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. You’ll head to Mombasa by ferry and then travel down the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway as the sunrise lights up the day and your journey.
Along the way, we’ll stop to rest, stretch, and have some refreshments.
The variety of landscapes can surprise you at Tsavo West – you’ll see unusual baobab trees, extinct volcanic cones, and unexpected verdant springs in this large and colorful park.
We’ll be looking for lion, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, ostrich and so much more.
Lunch is next and then we’ll head for the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, home to over 80 of these endangered creatures.
Toward evening we’ll return to our Tsavo East safari lodge or tented camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2
Tsavo East – Amboseli
Two Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
It’s safari time and that means an early rise to watch the park come alive with light and wildlife. We’ll drive over to the park’s most unusual attraction: Mzima Springs. The greenery here contrasts nicely with the more rugged terrain of the park.
We’ll also be able to explore on foot, walking gently along the palm-shrouded banks as we spot colorful fish, migratory birds, hippos, and crocodiles in this surprisingly green oasis.
Now it’s time to head to Amboseli Park.
Day 2 Continued from either Tsavo East or Tsavo West
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
The first thing you’ll spot at Amboseli is the towering mass of Mt. Kilimanjaro looming over the park. This 19,000-foot mountain is the tallest in Africa.
And then there are the elephants – Amboseli is said to be one of the best places in the world to spot the great forms of these free-ranging creatures.
Get your camera ready – this park promises great photos wherever you look.
We can also add a cultural aspect to the day with an optional visit to the local Maasai village where you can meet these indigenous people and learn about their farming and herding lifestyle.
Toward late afternoon, the cloud cover often obscuring Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak may peel away revealing one of Africa’s most iconic sights.
We’ll take dinner at our Amboseli accommodation.

Day 3
Amboseli – Diani Beach
7- 8 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Let’s get up early and we might see the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro in the dawn’s light.
We’ll enjoy breakfast in this wonderful setting and then set out on another game drive through the park looking for whichever wildlife we haven’t yet spotted on our journey.
And now it’s time to head back to the Kenya coast and Diani Beach.
You’ve seen the best of the big Tsavo parks with their immense stretches of terrain and wildlife surprises. And you’ve experienced the picture-postcard beauty of Amboseli. Now you’re heading back to the prettiest beaches in the world. We at Africa Kenya Safaris hope you enjoyed it all. Please reach out to us for your next safari adventure – thank you!
