- Masai Mara
- Diani Beach
We’ll bring you to Diani Airport for the easy flight to the Masai Mara. And later fly you back to Diani.
Or, begin your air adventure from the beautiful beach resorts at Mombasa, Malindi, or Watamu. We’ll pick you up and bring you to the airport for your flight to the Masai Mara.
You’ve enjoyed Kenya’s finest beach, now experience its most famous and popular wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve, home to prides of lions, all of Africa’s “Big Five” wildlife, and millions of migrating wildebeests.
We’ll bring you there in style, a Mombasa Air Safari flight that will maximize the time you spend in the park. In just two hours we’ll take you from surf to safari. That certainly beats a 14-hour overland drive!
This journey is all fun – imagine stunning aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and then, rising into the sky ahead, the towering form of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, welcoming you to the heart of Africa.
Soon you’re on final approach to your airstrip near the park where your African Kenya Safaris driver/guide is waiting with a private 4 x 4 open-sided/open-top Land Cruiser Jeep.
All is well as you climb into your safari vehicle, your wildlife viewing platform for the next four days. What a wonderful way to safari. Jambo! Welcome!
What’s Cool About the Masai Mara?
You’ve no doubt heard the name Masai Mara for years – now’s your chance to see what all the excitement is about. Big cats. Lots of them. The park is well-known for its plentiful prides of lions, plus cheetahs, leopards, jackals, and hyenas.
This is where you come to see the elephants, rhinos, buffalo, giraffe, and over 95 other mammal species roaming these rolling hills, punctuated with Africa’s picturesque acacia trees. The ecosystem is dense here with wildlife – the landscapes… some of the prettiest anywhere.
Here, you will also discover the Great Migration (July – October), a planet-level spectacle of millions of herding wildebeests, zebra, and gazelle, streaming into the park across the Mara River. Searching for grasses and water, these countless grazers march to a timeless rhythm, trying to evade the crocodiles and then the park’s big cats. It’s a scene of survival of the fittest, fastest and luckiest.
While at the park, you may want to pause for a cultural experience – a visit to a local Maasai village. This change of pace will bring you close to an indigenous people who have made these hills their home for eons. Learn about their lifestyle and maybe participate in one of their ritual dances. For four days, this magical reserve will be your new home – welcome to the safari of a lifetime.

Depending on your choice of accommodation you can enjoy extras like a bush breakfast/lunch/ dinner, traditional dances around the boma, massage, aromatherapy, Ayurveda, special dietary menus, dinner at a Maasai homestead, game walks, overlook a natural watering hole, and more.

Day 1
Diani Beach – Masai Mara
2 Hour Flight
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
9:00 am – The beach is fantastic but now it’s time for some big game action. We’ll pick you up from your resort at Diani Beach, Mombasa, Malindi, or Watamu and bring you to the local airport for the easy flight to the Masai Mara.
At about 10:30 you’ll take off in your comfortable safari aircraft and enjoy views of Kenya’s fields and forests below. You can’t miss the imposing form of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro appearing out in the distance, almost welcoming you to your safari adventure.
Soon you’ll touch down at an airstrip near the park and as you disembark, you’ll meet your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide who will welcome you with a private open-sided/open-top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
Let’s start this safari as we ride to the park and your accommodation to freshen up. For the next four days, you’ll enjoy unlimited game drives over the park’s lovely rolling hills, through its forests, and down at the Mara River.
Prepare yourself for all sorts of wildlife encounters – the big cats, rhinos, elephants and so much more.
After lunch we’ll take our first big game drive, getting a taste of the safari experience.
Toward evening we’ll head to our Masa Mara safari lodge or tented camp to relax from the first day’s adventures and enjoy dinner.

Day 2
Full Day at the Masai Mara
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
This is our first full day of game drives so we’ll be up early to track the lions, leopards, and cheetahs as they emerge from the cool night into the soft morning light.
This is also a good time to talk with your guide about the different areas of the park to explore and how you’d like to plan out your safari adventure.
During your time in the park, don’t miss the action down at the Mara River. We’ll take a packed lunch and watch for the hippos and crocodiles. If you’re here during the Great Migration (July – October), you’ll get an extra treat – thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelle crossing over the river from the Serengeti on their annual trek for the sustenance of taller grasses.
And waiting for them at the river and throughout the park are all the big cats. Nature’s rites of survival will play out before you.
As the sun begins to wane, we can enjoy a “sundowner” – a traditional cocktail prepared by your guide. Pick a comfortable spot on the park’s hills and take in one of the Mara’s incredible sunsets.
Our second safari evening will be back at our lodge or tented camp, sharing tales of the day’s activities.

Day 3
Full Day at Masai Mara
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
It’s day three of your safari and you’re just getting warmed up. There is so much to see in this densest ecosystem of the region.
But please know that you can set aside time to just relax at your accommodation as well. Go for a swim or just enjoy the park’s colorful and scenic ambiance. Your guide will be happy to oblige your wishes.
The wonderful aspect of taking a four-day safari in just one park is you’ll have time to explore and experience so much. For instance, break for a cultural moment with an optional visit to a nearby Maasai village. You’ll learn about their lifestyle, customs, and can even purchase some of their colorful beaded handiwork.
Ever go on a balloon safari? Don’t miss this optional experience of sailing over the park in an early morning hot air balloon adventure. You’ll begin before dawn and then rise into the new day as the light breaks across the park. Your pilot/guide will point out the wildlife as you take in fantastic landscapes with rolling hills and winding rivers below.
Our final safari evening will be filled with yet more stories of wildlife and our time in the park.

Day 4
Masai Mara – Diani beach
2 Hour Flight
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Let’s get up early to take advantage of our last day on safari. Perhaps you recall some areas of the park you’d like to revisit. This would be a good time to discuss these ideas with your guide.
And your guide may have some areas he’d like to share with you. Create your final safari experience together.
Let’s have a big safari breakfast at our accommodation. Then, we will fill our morning with another game drive.
Toward early afternoon, we’ll head back to the airstrip. Take a final look around – you may just spot more animal life on this final drive.
We’ll get you comfortably seated on your plane and then it’s another scenic flight back to the Kenya coast. Upon landing, an Africa Kenya Safaris driver will bring you back to your resort at Diani, Mombasa, Malindi, or Watamu.
This is the way to safari – an easy scenic flight right to the park. Four days of safari action make you close to an expert on the Masai Mara and its many wonders. We hope you had as much fun as we did. The entire crew at Africa Kenya Safaris thanks you for your time, interest, and appreciation of our incredible world of wildlife.
