6 DAY FROM DIANI BEACH – FLY & DRIVE
COAST FOUR PARK SAFARI
Tsavo East/Amboseli/Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara
Starting from/returning to your Diani Beach or other coastal resort.
We’ll pick you up in style – your own private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
And then we’ll fly you back to the coast.

- Diani Beach
- Tsavo East
- Amboseli
- Lake Nakuru
- Masai Mara
- Diani Beach
Here’s a unique Africa safari – you’ll see Kenya close up by Land Cruiser Jeep but also from above as you wing in from Nairobi back to the coast. This special journey will bring you to the finest parks, home to all the big game – lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, wildebeests – and some surprises like rhinos and even pink flamingoes.
Your journey begins at legendary Tsavo East National Park, with its red-dusted elephants and short-maned, storied Tsavo lions. Famous Mt. Kilimanjaro comes next as it towers over Amboseli National Park, home to all the large wildlife.
Ever been to a Rift Valley lake? We’ll discover a change of pace at Lake Nakuru National Park with its waterfalls, acacia woods, and birdlife along the shore – ostriches, cormorants, even bright pink flamingoes.
Then we journey onto the crown jewel – the Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya’s most popular park with its many prides of lions and limitless trains of wildebeest and zebra. For six days we’ll explore these parks and their wildlife treasures – then we’ll wrap up with a flight soaring over Kenya’s broad landscapes from above as we return to the coast.
What’s Cool About These Parks?
Aruba Dam at Tsavo East is an active watering hole, a big draw for the park’s elephants, who often parade with a rosy-dusted coat, from rolling in the red-oxide soil. Speaking of elephants – you are guaranteed to spot them at Amboseli, home to one of the largest populations in Africa. Have your camera ready as they march before the majesty of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Lake Nakuru is a curious blend of verdant forests with monkeys, baboons and the lake which hosts a bright menagerie of birdlife. But there’s more – the park also is home to a rhino sanctuary, protecting these increasingly rare and shy creatures.
Come to the Masai Mara for the lions but stay for the Great Wildebeest Migration. It’s the largest movement of animals on the planet – millions of them stream into the park from the Serengeti in search of water and taller grasses.

Day 1
Diani – Tsavo East
3 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
4:30 It’s safari time so let’s get into an early morning routine. Your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will swing by in your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Hop aboard and we’ll head to Mombasa via the Likoni Ferry.
From there we travel the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, enjoying the dawn’s early light over the passing fields. We’ll make stops en route to stretch and get refreshments.
Soon we’ll pass through the gate taking us onto the vast plains of Tsavo East. We’ll be tracking for lions, elephants, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, and lots of other big game and birds like ostrich, heron, and buzzards.
These are our first game drives and you’ll start getting into the safari rhythms, appreciating the beauty and peace of the natural world all about.
We’ll have lunch, freshen up and then head out for more safari action.
Later as the sun begins to set and the day starts to cool we’ll see more wildlife emerging from the bush.
We’ll head back to our Tsavo East safari lodge or tented camp to relax, enjoy dinner, and reflect on the day’s adventures.

Day 2
Tsavo East – Amboseli
5 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Just like yesterday, we’re up with the sun and an early game drive to watch the park and its wildlife awake into the new day.
Then we’re off to Amboseli – we should arrive around mid-day and refresh at our accommodation. We’ll take an easy and relaxed game drive around this compact but busy park. And wherever we venture, we can’t miss the inspiring vista of Mt. Kilimanjaro towering over the park and the voluminous herds of elephants parading about.
Toward evening, if we’re lucky, the cloud cover obscuring Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak may part, giving us one of Africa’s most iconic views.
Dinner and rest will be at our Amboseli accommodation.

Day 3
Amboseli – Lake Nakuru
7 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
We’ll be up early for a extended but scenic drive to Lake Nakuru. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the dramatic cliffs of the Great Rift Valley. We can also pause at Lakes Naivasha and Elmenteita to admire their picturesque displays.
But Lake Nakuru has its own beauty and variety – a world of rocky peaks, waterfalls, and shaded forests where giraffe and antelope roam. The lake is home to pelicans, stork, cormorants, and sometimes large numbers of pink flamingoes.
The park is also one of the few spots where you’ll find rhinos. The sanctuary here is home to both the black and white varieties of these rare and endangered animals.
Evening will be spent at your Lake Nakuru lodge or tented camp.

Day 4
Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
6 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
The early morning is a peaceful time at the lake – we’ll take in the birds and larger game searching for their breakfast by the shore.
Then we’re off to the Masai country and the great Masai Mara. We may even pass Maasai herders along the way, tending to their cattle.
We’ll get to the park in the afternoon, in time for a game drive over the colorful hills and amber savannahs. The park is blessed with the highest concentration of wildlife in the region, so our sightings should be active and varied.
We’ll be spending the next three days in this rich environment.
Dinner will be served at your Masai Mara safari lodge or tented camp. Rest, relax and get ready for some serious safari action tomorrow.

Day 5
Full Day at the Masai Mara
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
There’s lots of wildlife awaiting us today throughout the park. Your guide is an expert in tracking the animals, so discuss with him what most interests you. Be as active as you like or take time to relax at your accommodation if that is your preference.
If you should be at the park during the season of the Great Migration (July – October), you’re certain to witness the tens of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelle pouring into the Mara from the neighboring Serengeti.
We’ll head down to the Mara River, site of the crossing where the great spectacle plays out between the invading grazers and the crocodiles in the river… plus, the many predators throughout the park. It’s the timeless cycle of nature’s drama playing out before us.
Like to add more activities to your safari experience? Take an optional cultural tour at a nearby Maasai village. Get to meet these indigenous people and learn about their farming and herding lifestyle.
For a spectacular event you won’t ever forget, ask your guide to arrange for the optional early morning balloon safari over the park. You’ll see the sun rise over the Mara as below the wildebeests and other game emerge into the dawning day. Simply breathtaking.
Dinner will be at our Mara accommodation.

Day 6
Masai Mara – Nairobi – Diani Beach
