TANZANIA SAFARI GUIDE
Limitless Africa

Its wildlife is unsurpassed. Its beaches are the envy of the world. And its people, the warmest you’ll meet. If you’re looking for a spectacular safari adventure, natural beauty, and a deep connection to the land… then Tanzania will feel like home.
Imagine climbing the world’s highest free-standing mountain, descending the world’s largest volcanic crater, or tracking the world’s largest population of lions. All are possible here in this epic land of sprawling savannahs, luminescent beaches, and mountains rising through the clouds.
No doubt you’ve heard the names Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar. They ring with the promise of exotic adventures. These signature wonders are but a sample of the awesome landscapes Tanzania offers its visitors – fifty percent of the country is untouched – a paradise just waiting for your exploration.
In this vibrant universe of lion, leopard, cheetah, great elephants, exotic birds, and so much more, prepare to leave your old ways behind, for Tanzania presents opportunities for reflection and renewal that just may change how you look upon our natural world.

Tanzania’s Spectacular Wildlife

Where else but the sprawling fields of the great Serengeti could you explore for its over 3,000 lions? This world-famous park is also the breeding ground for millions of wildebeests and zebra. You’ll quickly see why the Serengeti has been named one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Africa” as you marvel at the vast populations of big cats, elephants, giraffes, antelope, and hippos on fantastic display.
Want to descend into a world of wildlife, cut off from the rest of Africa? A trip down the Ngorongoro Crater will bring you up close to a humming density of over 25,000 animals. Lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, hippos… even pink flamingoes thrive in this blue/green volcanic caldera – the largest in the world.
Fuchsia flamingoes and tree-climbing lions? What sort of place would hold such an exotic assortment of creatures? You’ll find out firsthand at Lake Manyara National Park, a small but very pretty park full of surprises.
Tanzania boasts every sort of landscape, from rainforests to snow-capped peaks. At Arusha National Park, you can trek through thick forests, alpine plains and gaze upon the snowy peak of Mt. Meru. Go for a canoe safari here and take in the immense population of the park’s giraffes.
If elephants are your thing, be sure to visit Tarangire National Park and you’ll be rewarded with numbers topping 3,000 of the great creatures. The park also boasts a good number of lions, plus wildebeests, zebras, and buffalo.

The Majesty of Mt. Kilimanjaro
You can spot it from all directions – on the road, in the air – even from other countries! Mt. Kilimanjaro is a peak of superlatives: the tallest in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Every year, climbers by the thousands are drawn to its forested slopes and trails, testing themselves as they seek the ultimate prize: topping the summit at 19,000 feet. And then, viewing a glorious sunrise over Africa lighting up the plains as they gaze from the top of the world.
Exotic Islands, Perfect Beaches
Tanzania’s islands don’t just offer dreamy pristine beaches, they are a living expression of the cultures that have passed through this East African coast. You’ll find Swahili, Asian, Indian, and Arab influences in the art, architecture, cuisine, and people.
A visit to Zanzibar is a delightful trip back in time when this island was the hub for the trading of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices. It was and still is the site of powdery unhurried beaches where you can unwind in the gentle balmy atmosphere.
Be sure to visit Zanzibar City and its historic Stone Town quarter for a taste of its detailed architecture and layers of old-world cultures.
Looking for hidden lagoons and beaches, then set sail for nearby Pemba Island, a world of coral reefs and exceptional diving.
You may not know about Mafia Island near the coast of Dar es Salaam, but a visit here will reward you with out-of-the-way beaches and a marine park humming with sea turtles and white sharks among its rich coral reefs.

A Welcoming People
Are the land and wildlife Tanzania’s greatest attraction… or will you find its warm and welcoming people the thing that touches you most? Throughout your safari adventures here, in the small towns and villages, visiting the indigenous people, or meeting and bartering with the locals in the cities, the friendly individuals you meet in Tanzania will leave you with a feeling of warmth and appreciation for their fascinating country.
