TANZANIA DAY SAFARIS LEAVING FROM ARUSHA
Choose an Easy Day Trip To Any Of These Four Wildlife Parks

We’ve made your safari options quick and easy from the centrally located town of Arusha. Located near Kilimanjaro Airport, you can fly in and select which fun and comfortable day safaris you would like to link up with.
The wildlife parks are close by so you’ll have plenty of time to explore, see plenty of big game, and enjoy a full day of safari experiences at any of these reserves. Each park offers its own special appeal: Giraffes at Arusha National Park; lions, flamingoes, and more at Ngorongoro Crater; countless elephants at Tarangire; and monkeys, baboons, and even tree-climbing lions at Lake Manyara.
But don’t worry, we’ll help you decide which park or parks are best for you. Then we’ll head out early from Arusha, with the stunning backdrop of Mount Meru offering the promise of adventures ahead.

Arusha National Park – So Much To Do
Just a quick hour and a half from the town of Arusha, this amazingly versatile park offers so much to see – mountains, lakes, rainforest, savannahs – and to do – hiking, canoeing, and mountain climbing.
Where else can you climb an active volcano, glide across brilliant algae lakes and witness an incredible population of giraffes? A trip to Arusha Park promises an action-filled day.

Ngorongoro Crater
Imagine descending into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, an immense depression in the earth that creates its own ecosystem. This is a luxuriant green world unto itself, supporting over 25,000 animals – every imaginable species, from lions, elephants, buffalo, zebra, and antelope, to hippos and pink flamingoes.
We’ll head down the crater in our 4 x 4 Jeep to arrive in a universe of grasslands, forests, lakes, and marshes alive with wildlife and birds but seemingly cut off from the rest of Africa.
Lake Manyara National Park
This compact jewel of a park doesn’t get all the headlines but a day here will reward you with a delightful array of colors, landscapes, and busy, abundant wildlife.
The park’s lovely acacia forests hold all sorts of surprises: large troops of baboons, blue monkeys, giraffes, zebras, impala, and amusing warthogs. You just may do a double-take looking up into the tree branches to find the napping forms of Manyara’s tree-climbing lions! The park is known for this unique and adaptable sub-species that make the acacia trees their home.
But the park is dominated by the blue alkaline lake, whose dense concentrations of algae attract fluttering hoards of bright pink flamingoes to its shores, along with many other water birds.

Tarangire National Park
It’s off the beaten path but that just means fewer tourists and more wildlife time for you. Tarangire Park offers one of the highest concentrations of animals in Tanzania. Your day trip here will bring you up close to the more than 3,000 elephants and over 700 lions that fill this fascinating park.
Tarangire even features its own mini-migration of over 250,000 animals – an incredible array of giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, and so many more.
Plus the flora here is fascinating. You’ll find great dramatic stands of bizarre baobab trees, looking as though they’ve been planted upside down, with their thick trunks and spindly branches reaching for the sky. And those large earthen mounds you’ll spot rising from the ground? Those are giant termite nests, a sign of the activity seen and unseen all around Tarangire.
