Tsavo West & Amboseli Big Five Safari
Green hills and a rhino sanctuary at Tsavo West, then Amboseli's dense elephant herds beneath Kilimanjaro's snow-capped summit.
Two very different Big Five landscapes
Tsavo West is a vibrant canvas of green hills and springs, its watering holes drawing big cats, elephants and crocodiles. Amboseli trades that lushness for open plains and the towering, unmistakable form of Kilimanjaro.
Between the two, you'll have real chances at all of Africa's Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino - alongside a genuine on-foot walk at Mzima Springs.

Nairobi → Tsavo West National Park
7:00am pickup on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, passing local homesteads and Maasai herdsmen tending their flocks. Tsavo West greets you with rolling hills, bush and riverine forest.
Lunch at your lodge, then out to track lion, elephant, zebra, buffalo and cheetah, with rich migratory birdlife throughout. We visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a 70 sq km (27 sq mi) reserve holding over 80 endangered black rhinos.

Tsavo West → Amboseli National Park
An early game drive as the park wakes, followed by a visit to Mzima Springs - a spring-fed oasis of hippo, crocodile and exotic fish, one of the few spots where you can leave the jeep for a guided walk along the shore.
The short drive to Amboseli brings Kilimanjaro looming ever closer - a smaller, denser park where elephant spotting is said to be the best in the world. Lion, buffalo, zebra, cheetah, hyena, fox, jackal, monkey and baboon round out the sightings, with the mountain's peak sometimes clearing for dramatic photos.
