Amboseli's elephant herds sit beneath Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Rift Valley lakes bring a sailing safari and birdlife, Hell's Gate adds an optional cycling safari, and the Masai Mara closes the week with the richest ecosystem in the region.

Nairobi → Amboseli National Park
7:30am pickup, down the Nairobi/Mombasa Highway toward Amboseli Park, past fields and local farms with possible sightings of Masai herders. Towering Mt. Kilimanjaro serves as our beacon.
Arriving around lunchtime, we freshen up and get ready for our first big game drive - a delightful mix of large and smaller game, elephant, buffalo, big cats and lots of birdlife. Toward evening, the clouds hiding Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak may disperse for an unforgettable vista.

Full-Day at Amboseli
A pre-breakfast game drive to see the park in the day's early light, then breakfast and a mid-morning drive - perhaps a stop at Observation Hill for stunning views in all directions, including Kilimanjaro.
The marshes here host rich birdlife such as Egyptian geese. Lunch and more safari time follow in this compact but busy park - break up the day with downtime between drives as you wish.

Amboseli → Lake Naivasha
A final spin around the park to see who we can spot emerging into the new day, then north through Nairobi to Lake Naivasha along the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arriving around lunchtime.
An easy, peaceful sailing safari glides by curious hippos with grazing antelope and giraffe on the nearby shore, then a guided walking safari at neighboring Crescent Island Sanctuary past buffalo, zebra and colorful birdlife.

Today visits two more parks - Hell's Gate is nearby with the unique opportunity of bicycling through its deep canyons past grazing buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope (optional Lake Bogoria visit also available for more plentiful flamingoes).
Then it's on to Lake Nakuru Park for views of every sort of wildlife - monkey, warthog, giraffe, rhino, pelican and sometimes flamingo, a mix of waterfalls, woods, acacia forest and the lake itself.

Full Day at the Masai Mara
Discuss with your guide which areas of the park to explore - usually we head down to the Mara River, site of the crossing herds during the Great Migration (July-October).
Crocodiles wait in the river, then great numbers of big cats throughout the park. Optional pre-dawn hot air balloon safari and Maasai village visit available today.

Masai Mara → Nairobi
Breakfast at your accommodation, then out of the park for the drive back to Nairobi.
Arriving at about 4:30pm - a full week of safari action at five beautiful parks, memories to carry with you for a long time.
