The two greatest parks in the world - the Masai Mara and the Serengeti - are both on this full-week safari adventure, perhaps the densest ecosystems of wild animals anywhere, where you'll witness the journey of the Serengeti's uncountable wildebeest and zebra pouring into the neighboring Mara lands.
This cross-border tour continues to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera on earth, home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and pink flamingo. Our final park, Lake Manyara, is a small gem famous for its unique tree-climbing lions.

Nairobi → Masai Mara National Reserve
7:30am pickup for the start of your week-long safari. We travel through Kenya's central highlands, with a rest stop for dramatic views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, entering Maasai country along the way.
Arriving around lunchtime, we freshen up at our accommodation, then set out on our first game drive of the week across the Mara's green rolling hills and acacia-dotted plains.

Full Day Masai Mara
A day of unlimited game drives - safari as much or as little as you please. An early rise catches the soft morning light over the park's many creatures.
A picnic lunch down at the Mara River - crossing site of the Great Migration (July-October) - with hippo and crocodile in residence. Optional hot air balloon safari and Maasai village visit available today.

Masai Mara → Serengeti (Tanzania)
One last Mara game drive as we exit the park and head for Tanzania. At the border town of Isebania we complete the crossing formalities, switch vehicles and meet our new driver-guide for the Tanzania leg.
The Serengeti's vast, almost treeless plains stand in contrast to the Mara - this immense ecosystem is home to thousands of lions and millions of wildebeest and zebra, breeding here before joining the Great Migration north.

Full Day at Serengeti
A full day to appreciate this vast, active reserve - morning and afternoon game drives, with time to rest at your accommodation if you wish.
Lion, cheetah, zebra, gazelle, eland, impala, hippo and warthog fill the plains, alongside the massive herds of wildebeest that populate this great wild space.

Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater
A final Serengeti game drive on the way out, with a stop at Oldupai Gorge - the world-famous site of early human fossil discoveries - before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet.
Lion, leopard, elephant, rare black rhino, huge herds of zebra, hippo and pink flamingo fill the crater floor. A picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok Springs among hippos and water birds, before climbing back up to the rim toward sunset.

Ngorongoro Crater → Lake Manyara Park
An early rise for a spectacular crater-rim sunrise, then on to Lake Manyara National Park - a change of pace, with the deep blue lake and its carpet of pink flamingoes.
Look overhead - Lake Manyara is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions, resting in the branches above the game-viewing tracks.
