This active 8-day tour has everything: the world's greatest savannahs, its largest volcanic crater, and Africa's most immense lake - filling these iconic landscapes, every conceivable form of wildlife, from big cats to elephants to wildebeest and colorful birdlife.
We begin at the world-famous Masai Mara, then cross into Tanzania to explore Lake Victoria's blue shores, the massive plains of the Serengeti, Olduvai Gorge, the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, and finish tracking lion, elephant and zebra at Tarangire Park.

Nairobi → Masai Mara
7:30am pickup for the start of an eight-day adventure. We head south through Kenya's central highlands, with rest stops along the Rift Valley escarpment to view the scenic wonders of the great valley.
Arriving at the Masai Mara, we freshen up at our accommodation and enjoy a hearty lunch, then head out on the first of many game drives across the park's pretty rolling hills.

Full Day at the Masai Mara
Your first full day of game drives - the Mara offers an unending choice of environments, with prides of lion and every sort of wildlife to track.
A picnic lunch down at the Mara River, site of the Great Migration crossings. Optional Maasai village visit and hot air balloon safari available today.

Masai Mara → Lake Victoria (Tanzania)
An early morning game drive to see as much of the Mara as possible, then on toward Tanzania, crossing at the border town of Isebania where we switch vehicles and meet our new Tanzania driver-guide.
Arriving at Lake Victoria in the late afternoon, we freshen up at our lodge and have time to explore the lake's environment, perhaps visiting the nearby Bunda Market.

Full Day Serengeti Game Reserve
Massive game viewing across these vast, busy plains - the choice is yours as to how much or how little to explore, morning or afternoon.
Over 3,000 lions and uncountable wildebeest and zebra call the Serengeti home, alongside cheetah, giraffe, gazelle, eland, impala, klipspringer, warthog and, near the lakes, hippo.

Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater
One more Serengeti game drive as we exit the park, then on to the largest volcanic crater in the world - a magical world of color and wildlife stretched out before us at the rim.
We drive down the crater wall to the floor, tracking rhino, elephant, buffalo, hippo, cheetah and lion in this dense, self-contained ecosystem, with lunch at a scenic viewing spot and a spectacular sunset back up at the rim.

Ngorongoro Crater → Tarangire Park
An optional gorgeous sunrise at the crater's rim, then on to Tarangire Park - small but lovely, with a wonderful variety of game, especially large herds of elephant.
